Laboratory Overview

The human brain functions as a system that can flexibly adapt to the environment. We aim to investigate the function of the brain, particularly the visual system, and to elucidate spatial perception, object recognition, and attention-based selection mechanisms through vision. We also attempt to construct a model of visual function, and consider methods of evaluating visual environments and displays, as well as methods of presenting information suited to human vision.
Our laboratory focuses on research into early and mid-stage visual processing, such as stereoscopic perception, motion perception, and color vision, as well as the construction of quantitative models, and research into information selection through visual attention and eye movements in higher-level visual processing. We also conduct research into human visual recognition and reaction prediction in various environments.

About us

Our research focuses on understanding the complexities of human interaction and psychological states through a multi-faceted approach. We use advanced techniques, including brain and behavioral synchronization analysis, machine learning, and multi-sensory experiments, to decode social dynamics in various contexts, from team collaboration to human-robot relationships. The goal is to gain insights into how we perceive the world and interact with others, paving the way for advancements in fields like virtual reality and socio-cognitive development.
